We provide a wide range of air pollution control systems for customers that manufacture food and beverages. Typical pollutants found in this industry include vegetable oil mist and flour dust, as well as dust from a range of other ingredients.

Dust is generated by processes including tipping, mixing, weighing and bag filling. According to the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) ‘flour dust and enzymes containing additives such as amylase are the second most common cause of occupational asthma.’ Contact with these particulates can also cause dermatitis so it is vital they are removed from workplace air.

Depending on the nature of the specific customer requirement, we can specify, supply and install dust extraction filters from fellow Absolent Group company Dustcheck Ltd, as well as products from a range of other suppliers.

Dustcheck can adapt the designs of its filter range to meet European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) hygiene requirements of the food industry and adheres to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in the food industry.

The HSE has a dedicated section aimed at informing bakers of the best ways of avoiding occupational asthma – find out more by following this link:
