FOOD & BEVERAGE

We provide a wide range of air pollution control systems for customers that manufacture food and beverages. Typical pollutants found in this industry include vegetable oil mist and flour dust, as well as dust from a range of other ingredients.

Dust is generated by processes including tipping, mixing, weighing and bag filling. According to the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) ‘flour dust and enzymes containing additives such as amylase are the second most common cause of occupational asthma.’ Contact with these particulates can also cause dermatitis so it is vital they are removed from workplace air.

The HSE has a dedicated section aimed at informing bakers of the best ways of avoiding occupational asthma – find out more by following this link: http://www.hse.gov.uk/asthma/bakers.htm
