Fume ExtractionMulti Fan design and supply fume control systems for use in the following applications:
Fume pollutants can produce an unpleasant, even hazardous, working environment. Our fume control systems ensure that your workplace is a safer and healthier environment, compliant with the latest internal COSHH & DSEAR health and safety legislation and the external EPA. COSHH regulations require a risk assessment to be carried out where substances hazardous to health are used. They also require exposure to these substances to be prevented, or adequately controlled. The HSE sets Workplace Exposure Limits (WEL's) for hazardous substances at work and publishes these limits in EH40 which is up dated annually. The Workplace Exposure Limits are concentrations of the hazardous substance in the air, averaged over a specified period of time referred to as a time weighted average (TWA). Two time periods are used: long term (8hours) and short term (15 minutes). Whilst short term exposure limits (STEL) allow higher pollutant concentration levels, they are set to prevent effects, (eg eye irritation) which may occur relatively quickly ie following exposure for a few minutes. In addition to extraction, Multi Fan can supply fume treatment equipment to comply with EPA IPPC regulations. These measures include: • Activated carbon filtration • Wet scrubbing • Chemical scrubbing • Electrostatic filtration • Oil Mist Elimination Equipment • Thermal and Catalytic Oxidation |
